Manage
Finances |
We operate as a community based, bonded and
insured, nonprofit, Fee-for-Service payee for those who are not
able to handle their finances themselves. Our clients are
typically mentally and/or physically unable to make decisions on
how to spend or save their money. Our clients are usually
referred/assigned to us by an outside agency, but we also handle
independent accounts for family members who can no longer deal
with the money issues of the relatives. |
|
Court
Appointed and Record Retention |
When we are assigned a client (if it is an
outside agency) we may be a court appointed custodian and/or
guardian. When we are court appointed, we have to be bonded for
each individual client. We are required to keep a written record
of how all monies are spent and saved on behalf of the client
and present a yearly audit of our clients accountings to the
court. If we are not court appointed, there is an accounting
process that has to be presented yearly to the agency who refers
the client. |

Custodian
Duties |
As the custodian, our duties are to collect
all monies (benefits) that come from said outside agencies,
deposit the monies into a bank account. We are required to visit
the clients homes and make sure that all of their day-to-day
needs are met, such as: food, clothing, and shelter. With the
remaining monies it is decided by P.A.M. how much the client
will be able to draw for an allowance, how much is left in their
bank account, and how much is saved in a savings account for
future purposes, such as: to buy a house, purchase a car, buy a
bicycle, have air conditioning installed in their house, get a
new refrigerator, or buy some furniture. We find and hire all
maintenance, groundskeepers, and housekeepers that the clients
may need. We may schedule for those services and we set up
billing accounts if needed. |

Legal Guardian |
As a legal guardian, our duties include those
of custodian along with the responsibility to be their advocate
in legal decisions such as finding and purchasing a home. It
also includes making sure the clients credit is cleaned up,
including but not limited to, finding all overdue bills/accounts
that the client has outstanding and resolving/paying them. |
